## Why This Exists

Small business owners routinely face legal paperwork they cannot afford to get wrong, and cannot always afford a lawyer for every step. A contractor agreement. A privacy policy. An NDA before a pitch meeting. These are not exotic documents, but finding a usable starting point has always required either paying a lawyer or trusting a generic template from a random website.

DraftPolicy was built to give business owners a structured, plain-English starting point they can actually understand before handing it to a lawyer. Every document includes reviewer notes flagging the parts that need real legal attention.

## How It Works

You answer a short set of questions about your business - the country you operate in, what you sell, and how you work with contractors or partners. DraftPolicy uses your answers to generate a tailored draft document, formatted and ready for review.

Everything runs in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server. Nothing is saved. When you close the tab, it is gone. There is no account, no tracking, and no selling of your data, because none of it ever leaves your device.

## What a Donation Does

DraftPolicy does not run ads and does not charge for access. It is maintained by [Sociable Studio](https://sociablestudio.com) as a useful tool for the small business community. Donations go directly toward:

- Keeping the tool updated as laws change
- Expanding coverage to more document types and countries
- Building additional resources such as the legal bodies directory

There is no pressure and no subscription. Even sharing DraftPolicy with another business owner who might need it is genuinely helpful.
